Frozen Embryo Transfer
Frozen embryo transfer is a great development in IVF which helps many couple to get their embryos preserved to be used at later date when they are better prepared for pregnancy.
It can be used by those who don’t have a single child and Willfully wish to defer the pregnancy without any infertility concerns and also by those who are infertile and have been lucky to have surplus healthy embryos during the IVF process. The surplus embryos can be used for the next pregnancy at a later date.
The method of getting embryos for FET is to undergo an IVF cycle. The embryos are cryopreserved by either slow cooling over two hours or vitrified in ultrafast freezing. Vitrified embryos survive the cooling process better. In women who don’t have a partner, they can get their eggs frozen likewise and can get it inseminated at a later date by ICSI. Human embryos survive the freezing process better than the single called human egg.
